ABOUT US
We are a daycare and nursery early years setting attached to Upper Horfield Community School in Horfield, Bristol. We are located in Sheridan Road and are in between Filton Avenue and Gloucester Road (North). We are in close proximity to Southmead Hospital, Airbus and the MOD for working parents. We are also near Orchard School for parents who may have older children and need a nursery setting close to a Secondary School.
We share a Main Reception area with Upper Horfield Community School as well as have access to their facilities including Sports Pitch, School Hall and Playground.
We have two nursery rooms with outdoor areas so children have access to indoor and outdoor activities. We want to help your child be sociable, expressive, curious, resilient, active and healthy, as they achieve their next steps in their learning and development journey. We have an experienced, qualified, diverse Staff team who specialise in tailoring childcare based on each child's individual needs.
Ensuring your child is happy and thriving in our setting is important to us so we encourage positive home/daycare relations. We welcome as much communication as possible via application called tapestry which allows parents and carers to see what your child has been doing at nursery, as well as comment and add what your child has been doing at home.
FEES & SESSIONS
We offer free places for eligible 2 year olds and all 3-4 year olds. Our Nursery day runs from 8.00am-5.00pm. Our core morning session is 8.45am-11.45am and our core afternoon session is 12.15pm-3.15pm. Our fees, session times and extras are available to view in our "fees and session leaflet" (above). A 3% discount is available to staff working in the NHS, MOD & Education sectors.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO NURSERY?
We encourage each child to bring a bag to nursery complete with the following or modified to suit your child's needs
- Nappies
- Change of clothing
- Sun Hat/Sun Cream
- Coat/Hat/Scarf/Wellington boots
- Fruit/snacks for my friends to share
Please make sure your child’s clothing is named and they wear clothing that means they can still take part in messy play.
CAN MY CHILD HAVE LUNCH AT NURSERY?
We encourage healthy eating at nursery, whether at snack time or for lunch.
If your child stays for the afternoon session you will have to either provide a packed lunch, or order a hot meal for your child. Hot meals must be ordered at Main Reception at least one week before and are £2.60 per day. They are cooked in house by Chartwells, in our School Kitchen with a 5 rated hygiene standard level. Menu's are available from Main Reception.
